That is why we are delighted that our LocalFish products are the only fish products to have been awarded the ECO-SCORE® A, even in comparison to meat products! While other products often perform worse in animal production, we are setting a new standard for responsible consumption. This recognition confirms that our approach of regional, resource-conserving and sustainable production is the right way to go.

What is the ECO-SCORE®? The ECO-SCORE® independently assesses food based on its environmental footprint. Factors such as CO₂ emissions, energy consumption, water consumption and biodiversity play a role. The rating system ranges from A (very environmentally friendly) to E (not very environmentally friendly). With the top rating of A, LocalFish is not only one of the most sustainable suppliers in the fish industry - we outperform all meat products, which are often only rated C or worse.

Why is this so important to us? As a company, we focus on transparency and responsibility. Our aim is not only to supply the best quality fish, but also to enjoy it with a clear conscience. The ECO-SCORE® A award shows that we keep our promise:

• Regional production: Our fish come from sustainable Swiss aquaculture and thus significantly reduce the CO₂ footprint compared to imported fish.

• Taking animal feed further: We optimize our feed to reduce or completely replace the soy content. We are also strictly against bycatch.

• Short transportation routes: Directly from the region to your kitchen without long transportation routes or environmentally harmful air imports with questionable supply chains.
